Syonaka

   Syonaka is commonly known as Indian trumpet. The plant have numerous medicinal properties and is used in alleviating many diseases. The herb is very efficacious and is used in case of Oedema hence the name given. Dr. Varun Ram Raj of Ayurvedatarian uses the herb Syonaka in conditions involving the vitiation of Kapha and Vata doshas as it alleviates these doshas. The herb is used to treat conditions like Diarrhoea , Ascites, Indigestion etc. Syonaka is also used as a Stomachic , Antibacterial agent etc as it contains Phytoconstituents like chrysin, arginine etc.

Dosage

Powder (Churna) – 3 g

Decoction – 40 ml

Tablet - 2 tablets twice daily or as per the advice of the Ayurveda doctor

Morphology :

A small tree with light brown bark. Leaves are ovate. Inflorescence is raceme. Fruits are capsule. Flowers are purple.
