CoVid 19 and Ayurveda

   CoVid 19 is the term which is presently ruling this world. The west and modern medicine is trying hard to find a solution. Ayurveda have mentioned clear preventive measures as well as management measures for similar conditions. In general a viral infection may lead to the  misbalance of all the three doshas namely Vata, Pitta and Kapha. How to prevent CoVid 19 or How to reduce the severity of infection through Ayurveda?                             Ayurveda has two treatment methods , -Shodhana ( expelling dosa from body through natural or man made openings) and -Samana ( pacifying vitiated humor by means of medicines) Shodana and Samana are equally important in Ayurveda. In Shodhana vitiated humors are expelled forcefully and in Samana , without expelling out, vitiated humors are pacified using medicines. Shodana are of Five types – - Vamana ( Emesis) - Virechana( Purgation) - Kashaya Vasthi ( Decoction enema) - Nasyam ( Nasal drops) - Rakta Moksham ( Blood letting) Above five treatment methods all together is called as Pancha Vidha Sodhanam. In South side of India , Pancha Karma is more popular than Pancha Vidha Sodhana . In Pancha Karma , instead of Rakta Moksha (blood letting ) of Pancha Vidha Shodana , Sneha vasthi ( Medicated oil enema) is added . Diagnosis in Ayuveda

                                                                                             There are five factors which helps in the Diagnosing in Ayurveda basis, they are - Nidana ( etiology) - Purvarupa( premonitory symptoms or prodromal symptoms symptoms) - Rupa ( signs and symptoms) - Upasaya ( Test medications and Confirmative tests are done and those which pacifies the disease are called Upasaya ) - Samprapti ( route of manifestation of disease explained in Ayurveda basis) If the above five are known clearly , then the diagnosis will be a perfect one.
