Agasthya

    Agastya is a tall slender tree that grows through out India. The herb is rich in vitamin A and is beneficial for the eyes by alleviating diseases like night blindness, hence the name given. The herb is commonly known as Tree bean and have many therapeutic uses. Dr. Varun Ram Raj of Ayurvedatarian uses the herb Agastya for the treatment diseases caused by the vitiation of Pitta dosha as the herb is Pitta alleviating in it’s action. Agastya is used to treat numerous diseases including Night blindness , Fever etc. Nowadays it is also used as an Antipyretic , Antiinflammatory and Hypotensive agent as it contains Phytoconstituents like resins , calcium , phosphorus etc.

Dosage

Juice (Swarasa)-  10-15 ml

Decoction (Kwatha ) – 50 ml

Tablet - 2 tablets twice daily or as per the advice of the Ayurveda doctor
