Kupilu

   Kupilu is commonly known as Nux vomica. The plant have numerous medicinal properties and is used in alleviating many diseases. Dr. Varun Ram Raj of Ayurvedatarian uses the herb Kupilu in conditions involving the vitiation of Kapha and Vata doshas as it alleviates these doshas. The herb is used to treat conditions like Cholera, Skin disorder, Diarrhoea etc. Kupilu is also used as astringent , aphrodisiac, appetizer etc as it contains Phytoconstituents like strychnine , vomicine etc.

Therapeutic indications

  • Loss of appetite (Agnimandyam)- The powder of Kupilu seeds are triturated with lemon juice and pills are made. Intake of this pills increase appetite 
  • Cholera(Visucika)- Fried Kupilu powder mixed with water and pills are made. This will check Cholera.

Dosage

Powder (Churna) – 60 mg

Tablet - 2 tablets twice daily or as per the advice of the Ayurveda doctor

Morphology :

A perennial deciduous tree with greyish bark. Leaves are broadly elliptic. Inflorescence is terminal cymes. Flowers are green.
