Gudoochi or Guduci

  Guduci is one of the most potent herbs used in Ayurveda owing to it’s medicinal properties. The herb is commonly known as Gulancha tinospora. The herb protects the body from all diseases and hence the name given. Dr. Varun Ram Raj of Ayurvedatarian uses the herb Guduci for the treatment of disorders involving vitiation of all the doshas (Vata Pitta and Kapha ) as the plant is Tridosha hara in nature. Guduci is used in conditions like Diabetes, Cough, Respiratory distress etc. The herb contains Phytoconstituents like diosgenin, gitogenin etc which aids in its diuretic and aphrodisiac actions.

  • Fever (Jwara)- Decoction prepared from Guduci is taken at a dose of 90 ml twice per day to alleviate Fever
  • Gout (Vatarakta)- Oil processed with Decoction of Guduci and milk can alleviate Gout.

Powder (Churna )– 3 g

Decoction – 60 ml

Tablet - 2 tablets twice daily or as per the advice of the Ayurveda doctor

Morphology :

Large glabrous climber with succulent stems. Leaves are membranous and cordate. Inflorescence is raceme. Flowers are green. Fruits are red.
