Bilva - Pacifies Vata and Kapha dosha

 Bilva, also known as Bael fruit is one of the commonly found herbs in India. The name Bilva is given because of it’s property to alleviate Dysentery. Dr. Varun Ram Raj of Ayurvedatarian uses the herb Bilva for the treatment of Diarrhoea, Vomiting, Piles etc as the herb alleviates Vata Kapha doshas. The aforementioned conditions are caused by the vitiation of Vata and Kapha and hence using Bilva in various combinations we can treat the conditions. The herb is also used as an Astringent, Digestive and Stomachic agent.

Diarrhoea (Atisara) – Intake of unripened fruits of Bilva on regular basis can alleviate Diarrhoea 

Vomiting (Chardi)- Decoction of Bilva and ginger is beneficial in curing Chardi.

Powder (Churna) – 1-2 g

Juice (Swarasa)- 10 ml

Tablet - 2 tablets twice daily or as per the advice of the Ayurveda doctor

Morphology :

A deciduous armed tree with erect stem. Leaves are elliptic and glabrous. Inflorescence is cymose axillary panicle. Flowers are white in color. Fruits are berry.
